There are vital differences between animal welfare and animal rights. Animal welfare reflects the belief that all animals should be humanely treated, while the animal rights philosophy gives moral equivalence and promotes equal legal standing to animals and humans. Animal rights groups like us, reject all uses of animals: for research, clothing, entertainment as well as for food.
